DEC Appeal - Philippines Typhoon
ATN Southall & Hillingdon raised a fantastic sum of £354.00 for the DEC Appeal - Philippines Typhoon appeal. Thanks to all who helped in this fantastic endeavor to raise money for those in need!
The money was raised through an event which was planned and carried out by staff and clients who helped with donations of food to be sold across two days in our Southall and Hillingdon centres. Whilst the planning, cooking, baking, organising and fund raising were sourced from across the two centers. 6 clients were involved in participating on all three days.
They convinced staff and students to part with their money and doing long shifts selling hot drinks, sweets, sandwiches, chocolate, cakes, samosas, spring rolls, burgers and deserts. They have been rewarded for their contribution work experience of a retail environment, a new entry to their CV showing the results of their effort and a feeling of being part of the community where they live, helping to raise awareness of a disaster on the other side of the world and making a difference to real people lives.
